Are there set check in times?

All guests are welcome to check in after midday. When you make your booking you will be asked what time you will be approximately arriving so that we can ensure that we are here to give you a warm welcome. If your flight or train is running late and your arrival time has to change dramatically, please call and inform us so that we know that you are still coming. We allow guests to check-in up to 8pm.

Are you far away from the airport?

We are a mere 20 minute taxi journey from Edinburgh airport. Taxi fares cost approximately £20-25. There is also a regular bus service from the airport to our area which would take around 35 – 40 minutes.

Do you have parking facilities?

We have very limited off street parking available (2 spaces) which is located at the front of the guesthouse. This is operated on a first come first served basis. However, there is parking available on surrounding streets which is free after 6.30pm Mon-Fri and all day Sat and sunday.

How do we get to your guesthouse from Waverly train station?

There are 3 options! If you walk, there is a straight forward route that you can take which will take around 25 minutes. Please call us so that we can direct you. If you choose to take the bus, there is a bus stop just along Prince’s St (gardens side). The bus you require is a number 10 and this will literally bring you to the front door of the guesthouse. This would take approximately 15 minutes. The last option is to catch a taxi which would take you around 10-15 minutes.

How far away are you from the city centre ?

We are a brisk 20 minute walk from Princes St which is Edinburgh’s city centre. We are also within walking distance from Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh Conference Centre, Napier University and Kings Theatre. We are also a quick walk away from Edinburgh Castle. We are happy to help you with directions if required, just ask!

Is there a curfew?

NO! Guests are given a key for their bedroom and a key for the front door, so they are free to come and go as they please. The only thing we ask is for those that are arriving late to consider other guests that may be already sleeping.

What if we want to leave early?

Once a booking has been made, full payment will be required on the day of your arrival. If you choose to leave early, a refund will not be honoured.

Will I get still get breakfast if I have to depart early?

Breakfast times are 8-9.30 am every morning. However, if guests require their breakfast earlier, they will be offered a continental option which guests will be able to help themselves to in the morning. All you need to do is inform us!
