We stayed for two nights in early March 2014.
The Granville Guest House owner welcomed us on our arrival. The double room we were shown to was compact with a high ceiling and had a shower/toilet room built into one corner. Despite the feeling that everything was crammed in, the room was clean, well decorated and comfortable. There was plenty tea and coffee in the tray, a t.v. and excellent free WiFi. There were no coat hangers in the room, but had we needed them I’m sure the host would have obliged.
My wife needed to use an iron and a hair dryer while there. Both were supplied straight away with no fuss.
The room we had was on the ground floor near the front door. The owner apologised for any noise we may have but we never noticed any. This may be due to the bed which was exceptionally comfortable and gave us an excellent nights sleep.
We enjoyed the breakfast. There was juice and cerials etc laid out. We had read in TripAdvisor that the owner was Muslim, so there would be no bacon. No problem! The cooked breakfast was sausages, fried egg, potato fries and tomato. Delicious. I like a big breakfast, so all this along with the lovely fresh rolls, tea and toast set me up for the day.
The hotel is more than a short walk from the centre of Edinburgh but is particularly well situated for public transport. There is a bus stop for the city centre a few yards away and a stop across the road for the return. We used the 10 and 27 buses which both go into the centre and run every 10 minutes (slightly less frequent on Sundays).

The owner was a really nice bloke who couldn’t do enough for his guests. We would stay here again.

Latiff is a wonderful host. Clean rooms, good breakfast, convenient location on bus line to downtown. Latiff has anything you may have forgotten like umbrella, alarm clock, hair dryer . He is a great ambassador for Edinburgh.

From the moment we arrived you were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was to much trouble.
The room and the facilities were excellent, even the buses stopped on the door step.
Breakfast time again was excellent, a good choice of cereals, fruit, and the cooked breakfast was 1st class.
We both had a wonderful stay in Edinburugh and would highly recommend the Granville. Thankyou :-))

I stayed there with my friends and my family. We booked 2 rooms. The rooms are clean. Comfy bed, nice breakfast and a friendly, helpful host.
The host is helpful and he answered us a lot of questions about the transport to the airport and the city centre.
    Worth to stay.
